Men’s Golf Association

Mission Statement:

The MGA is an organization of men who are Plantation members of all playing levels that enjoy the competitive spirit and enjoyment of men’s golf and social interaction.

Our mission is to work with the Plantation’s professional staff to organize tournaments throughout the year.  The MGA Board is responsible for establishing the format of play, entry fees, schedule of tournaments and all related activities.  The ultimate objective is to provide an atmosphere of camaraderie, fun and relaxation.

A majority of the tournaments are ABCD level team selection with pairings done by the professional staff.  This provides a wide participation by all levels of players and a congenial relationship among all members.

MGA Cost

The annual fee to join the MGA is $60.  Each tournament is efficiently priced at an average of approximately $35 for one day events.  

Benefits of MGA Membership

Each Saturday tournament is preceded by a Friday late afternoon social gathering.  This includes putting contests, hors d’oeuvres and beer keg hosted in the Plantation Club’s Tournament Plaza.  All MGA members are welcomed to join the social gathering regardless of their tournament participation.

Tournament day features a beer keg and lunch for all participants followed by prizes rewarding the day’s winners.

A byproduct of MGA tournaments is that new residents often become assimilated into the Plantation membership where they can learn of other existing golfing groups that focus on their playing preferences.
